Background
- this is a canon-divergent portrayal of the dark urge from baldur's gate 3.
- valanthe grew up with a family of druids, where she learned all her values and learned to love nature.
she grew up with a very caring family, and knows what love feels like.
- overall, she had a happy upbringing
even though she is a druid, she never felt a deep connection with Silvanus, no matter how much she tried. instead, she has these urges that go against every teaching she has ever known.
- valanthe told her family about her urges, and they did their best to help her. They didn’t take it all too seriously at first, given that valanthe expresses her love for nature. it was her adoptive father that taught her how to paint, and express herself through art. but, once valanthe started painting her urges (ie., piles of dead bodies), she could feel a gap being created by her family. she tries to hold onto the love that they gave them, but it felt like it was being ripped from her grasp.
- her family eventually abandons valanthe, her urges go against the cores of being a druid.
- encouraged by the pain of abandonment, she kills her previous family and everyone she loved.- valanthe eventually became the leader of the cult of bhaal. after losing her family and her loved ones, she was desperately trying to fill the empty void of love by fulfilling her duties. valanthe thought by pleasing her father and becoming what he wanted, she would feel that love she once felt from her previous family.
- valanthe hated the part of her identity that is druid. she felt like she is tainted (which is the opposite of how she is currently, where she feels like her urges are tainting her)more information to be added
